Interesting but superficial
By Steve Harrison
This is a simplified overview of some of the investigative methods and scientific techniques used to determine whether documents and artifacts are antique or fake. None of the science is explained in any detail -- the book is not, in fact, greatly informative; Nickell is more investigator than scientist -- but the accounts of particular cases he has handled are interesting.

"Is that autographed baseball you treasure real or fake? How do you tell the difference? Joe Nickell scores again in exposing fraud. Even better than "Antiques Road Show."
